H-SEIF 2 - Big Data meets Systems Engineering

Design and Development of Human Centric Artificial Intelligence (AI) frameworks to harvest big data in complex system engineering environments. The framework is designed to help industry partners get more value from multimodal data generated during past projects to enhance the New Product Development (NPM) experience for stakeholders by digital transformation and service innovation.

  • Identify contextual and in-system data (facts) needed in early-phase product development to adapt innovations to user needs.

  • Establish a process that helps people identify and apply their data to develop service solutions for users of their system of interest.

  • Create and validate a process that ensures that companies can effectively utilize big data in co-creation processes and explore how this affects the SE development models available today.

Smart Sports Exercises

Create new forms of volleyball training using multimodal sensor data and pressure sensitive in floor displays to provide analysis and feedback in an interactive manner. In the project multimodal data from IMUs (Inertial Magnetometer Unit) and pressure sensors was utilized to model athlete’s individual and team behavior in volleyball training and matches for analysis and feedback. The trained models are utilized to be the building blocks in developing software systems that is designed to instantly decide to change the ongoing exercises or provide visual feedback to the team via the floor display or other multimodal means. This helps coaches and players to get a more engaging experience by providing personalized and adaptive training.
